What is Marriage Encounter?
The Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) is an apostolic movement in service to the Catholic Church, composed of married couples and priests. Its purpose is to address the current needs of families, seeking to strengthen the unity of couples who want to improve their marriage.
For married couples, it is an opportunity to enrich their relationship. It is a positive and personal experience that provides couples with the opportunity to learn a communication method they can use for the rest of their lives. For priests or religious individuals, it is an experience to reflect on their vocation and strengthen their relationship with their community.
The fundamental experience of WWME is the Weekend, animated by the testimony of two or three married couples and a priest who discuss various aspects of daily life. Although Marriage Encounter is inspired by Catholicism, it is open to any belief or religion, as well as to non-believers.
It is a positive and personal experience that provides couples with the opportunity to learn a communication method they can use for the rest of their lives.
Currently, WWME is active in more than 90 countries around the world.
